Our neighborhood

Although our first insurance policy was written in 1928, Motorists Mutual has called 471 East Broad Street home since 1940. And for good reason. We love our corner of downtown Columbus. We’re just far enough away from the center of downtown to avoid the congestion, but close enough to soak in that downtown experience.

Known as the Discovery District, this eastern portion of downtown boasts an eclectic mix of housing, culture, places to worship, and higher education. The Discovery District is home to Columbus Metropolitan Library’s main branch and the Topiary Park. The Columbus Museum of Art is directly across the street from the Motorists Building, and the Discovery District is also home to Columbus College of Art and Design, Franklin University, and Columbus State Community College.
